JOURNEYMAN ELECTRICIAN

The City of Cushing is now accepting applications for a Journeyman Electrician to work under the supervision of the Electric Superintendent.

Applicant must have an Unlimited Electrical Journeyman License. They must be able to perform highly skilled maintenance, installation, repair and troubleshooting work involved with industrial and commercial electrical systems. Electrical work may be performed in a number of areas including SCADA, heating, motors, fire alarms, and generator equipment. Work involves technical application of electrical principles and the National Electric Code.

Must have working knowledge of how to do installs, services and repairs lighting fixtures, electrical panels, out lets and wiring. Operates power hand tools and other specialized electrical equipment. Reads electrical circuit diagrams. Installs, repairs and services specialized electrical pumps, valves and large motors including VFD’s and PLC’s. have working knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade. There will be on-call duties and must have a timely response to Cushing area.

JOURNEYMAN LINEMAN

The City of Cushing is now accepting applications for a Journeyman Lineman to work under the supervision of the Electric Superintendent and Line Supervisor. 

Applicant must be skilled in the construction and maintenance of high voltage and low voltage electric line’s, overhead and underground to include installing and removal of electric poles, transformers, insulators and associated equipment etc. See Job Description. 

Must have working knowledge of methods, materials and tools used in the electrical field; working knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade; Considerable knowledge of the principals of electrical theory as applied to electrical circuits and wiring diagrams and the ability to apply this knowledge to working situations.

The Cushing Police Department is accepting applications for the position of Communication/Detention Officer. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, have no criminal background, and possess a high school diploma or GED, and a valid driver’s license.

Cushing is a diverse community of approximately 7,853 ideally situated less than 1 hour from Oklahoma City and Tulsa. We are also within 30 minutes of Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. In 2013 Cushing Police and Cushing Fire moved into a new multimillion-dollar public safety center.

Police Officer

The City of Cushing, Oklahoma is seeking to fill positions for Police Officer.
Cushing Police and Fire recently moved into a state of the art public safety center. Cushing is a diverse community of approximately 7,853 ideally situated less than 1 hour from Oklahoma City and Tulsa. We are also within 30 minutes of Oklahoma State University in Stillwater.
Non-certified salary starts at 33,814. Salaries are negotiable for CLEET certified candidates, up to $36,768.83 based on training and experience. Both certified and non-certified candidates are encouraged to apply.

Cushing Officers are now allowed to reside within 35 minutes of city limits. Officers who successfully complete the FTO Program and reside within 15 minutes of city limits are eligible to participate in the take home vehicle program.

Street Dept. Skilled Laborer FT POSITION W/ BENEFITS

 

Job Duties include:

  • Performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled maintenance work, and operates a variety of equipment in the construction, operation and repair, maintenance and replacement of City street, alleys and drainage rights-of-way.  are functioning properly at all times.
  • Experience in concrete and asphalt work.
  • Valid State Driver's license and have a sufficient driving record for City's insurance carrier.
  •  Valid CDL certification with air brake endorsement or have the ability to obtain within six (6) months.

Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator FT POSITION W/ BENEFITS

 

Job Duties include:

 

  • Performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled technical and maintenance work in the operation, maintenance, and repair of wastewater treatment facilities and systems.
  • Monitors the performance of all equipment, gauges, charts in the treatment plant and pump stations; records statistical data concerning plant operations; Maintains, operates, repairs and replaces equipment as necessary; Charts lab test results for trend analysis and maintains DEQ records of analyses and test results; evaluates data makes quality adjustments to treatment processes.
  • Monitors and operates computer SCADA system.
  • Performs related work as assigned.
  • Minimum qualifications include:

a) Graduation from high school education or GED equivalent and,

b) supplemented by two (2) years post-secondary college or technical training in biology, environmental science, chemistry, or a closely related field, or two (2) years of experience in a water utility, or

c)Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

  • Special Requirements:

Valid State Driver's license and have a sufficient driving record for City's insurance carrier.  Possess a Class "D" Oklahoma Wastewater Operators license or have the ability to obtain within 6 months.  Within 18 months, possess a Class "C" Oklahoma Wastewater Laboratory license and a Class "C" Oklahoma Wastewater Operators license.
